One day after school, I put a video on Instagram asking if anyone knew Danny and Kieran, the lads behind Montirex. They’re from Kirkby, just like me, and I wanted to know whether they’d ever fancy doing something together — or even just having a chat.
I asked people to tag them, hoping they might see it.
That video has now had more than 750,000 views. Thanks to everyone who shared it and tagged them, it reached Danny. After speaking with Kieran, he messaged me and invited me down to meet them both.
Danny and Kieran showed me around their warehouse, offices and meeting rooms, then we sat down for a chat in their own office. Seeing everything behind the brand was amazing.
I took them a cap each, and we had a photo together in front of the Montirex sign — a moment I’ll always remember.
They gave me loads of Montirex tracksuits and T-shirts, which was unbelievable. But what meant the most was the time they spent with me, the advice they gave me and knowing I could contact them if I ever needed help.
These are two lads from the same place as me who have built something amazing. Getting to meet them and hear their advice made me want to keep working at my own brand even more.
I’d love to achieve what they have one day.
